The amount of GB on a graphics card does not have anything to do with performence, the higher the number, the better in general. Nvidia 740m/840m is the best in the price range. To add, i own an HP pavlion G6 with an i5 3210m and 7670m and this computer has been the biggest pile of shit ive owned.

I would save up some money and get the y50, two graphics card in a laptop causes heating issues.

The 860m performs pretty close to the 770m and the laptop is 300 dollars less than a 770m asus, and is much more portable than a huge ROG laptop

The asus is pretty big, it would be a pain to carry it around. The y50 is smaller and has the same hardware, so both would perform around the same. Its a choice between a larger laptop with most likely better cooling, or a smaller laptop with worse cooling, thou i expect neither will throttle.

Lenevo y50 is the best for the price range, i7 and 860m and is quite small for what it packs.

For your price range, a lenevo y50 will destroy whatever you throw at it for 1200 dollars and is still small and light enough to be transported.
