Thanks for the reply. I found this thread which doesn't give me any hope of installing a new CPU. People have gotten CPUs to work but there seems to be a timer that only lets it work for 30 mins and then it shuts down. Do you know what that might be and is there a possible way to get past that...

I recently got an Asus X401A laptop with a Celeron B830 1.8 GHZ processor as a hand-me-down. I know that the CPU is not soldered in but I cant seem to find any options for a replacement. Thinking about just selling this thing but if I can find a CPU to replace it with I will consider keeping it...
