I managed to fix it. for some reason when my graphics driver tried to update is messed up and wasn't allowing my HDMI audio to register. i rolled back the driver and updated it again and it is working now

I have a Sanyo TV and up until recently the audio and video have worked perfectly but then my laptop reset for some reason and after it came back on i have video but no audio from the tv. the audio still plays from the laptop though. ive tried different HDMI cables and other ports on the TV and...
