Just found the solution. It was NVIDIA nForce AR Chipset HP driver that needed to be installed. Apparently that controls the built in sound device http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-55781-1&cc=us&dlc=&lc=en&os=2093&product=3686695&sw_lang=:love:

I keep losing my sound. On device manager there is no sound, video games option. On the speaker icon at the bottom there is a cross and says no audio output device is installed. I have reinstalled windows 7 again and I get back the sound but after a few days I have lost it again. I tried to...
