If you want to Install windows 8 and above, with a main UEFI partition you sometimes have to format the usb stick as fat 32. I had mine ntfs and I when I went to legacy boot, but it could not see the UEFI partition. I'm sure I don't have it totally correct but that is one answer I have found...
