never mind... upon attempting to play with the battery in vs out I realized there is a bad connection with the power cord at the lap top. wiggle it and shuts the light off and on. Thanks for your time folks

My friend gave me his lap top, said it worked, it just needed a HDD cuz he took his out. It then sat for 3 years because I forgot about it. Son needs a lap top now so I buy an HDD, plug it into wall assuming battery is shot and I get nothing. The power pack lights up, but computer is dead...
