Hi. Autocad will run fast enough on any of todays laptops. You do not need a super fast machine to run it. If you print any drawings you might be better spending some of your budget on a good plotter or printer.

Check what the maximum resolution of your graphics card/chip is (In display properties). It is probably 1600x 1200 maximum if that is all you can get. Hd (1920x1200) laptops are very new so you may not have the capabilities with yours to get HD output.
