    Is the lag period the same as your HD powersaving? I had a WDC hard drive that had powersaving set on. Try this: http://support.wdc.com/KnowledgeBase/answer.aspx?ID=3875 In short: go to power saving and turn hard drive powersaving off by setting it to 0.
