    oh I did and all I heard was nothing :( I bought a new Sony sound bar. Plug and Play! I gave away the Denon to a friend of mine, also with a new Smart TV. And she can't get it to work either. I'd really like to solve this for her

    Bought a Samsung Smart TV last fall but the Denon S301 (maybe 12 years old?) will not play the sound. I used an optical audio cable, The Denon has no HDMI. Any thoughts?
