i haven't got a home theater yet..so um asking.. what is the best way to have a descent sound system..using my only audio ( optical out ) output ..?

i used a/v out with my old tv, but this one doesn't have it, I don't know how, can I use an optical-av switch to get audio ?

so ..home theater is not an option you say ? do I have to use regular speakers ? and what about the optical out thing in the tv ? what to use it for . ?

I know this is a naive question and um a newbie but let me say it.. I just got a new tv .60" LG plasma and I was surprised that it has no audio out inputs just like the old one..it has only optical audio out.. so um thinking about having a home theater or something but I wanna know can I use to...
