Yes i do need to get educated on products before i buy them. I have another 42 inch plasma that is 9yrs old still going strong, and it is an SVA of all things. I bought a 65 inch mits DLP and had problems galore, then they went off the market. Now it looks like plasmas are going off the market...

Thanks for the replies, i do have experience in soldering and watched the videos. If or when it goes out again i will do a rebuild on the PSU myself using better quality caps. Sad these days things are built to sell, not built to last.

Warranty is out and i suspect a dead PS board. where can i find a tech manual and where can i get parts. it is a 2012 PN64E550.
