Thank you for all your suggestions, many are promising but I still havent found one that has all I want. An i7 processor, at least 4GB of ram (6 or 8 would be ideal but I know its going to cost more), under 4 pounds and 255GB SSD is really what im looking for specs wise. Anyone know of any?

In general desktops are much better, especially if you build you own. If you build a desktop you can get something 2-3 times better specs wise and half the price. But it all depends on what youre using it for. If you need something portable then of course you're going to need a laptop. Yes...
