Laptop Build - Help me make an educated decision please!

The Lenovo is better because first of all it's not HP :P and it has a faster CPU and a better GPU the $124 extra isn't much to be honest for this leap in performance (2.26 Ghz compared to 2.4Ghz and 5450 radeon to a 5650 so I would say go for the lenovo.

    Solved! $750 and Performance?!

Well that's where a bit of the problem lies, I am not so sure but by the specs it will prolly run old guys at high and later ones at low-medium. As for the G51 I both a G51J 3D and I can say it's amazing.

Solved! Looking for a laptop under $600

Actually I3's are crappier than quad cores. But the laptop recommendation is pretty decent you won't find anything better at your price range

Laptop Build - Help me make an educated decision please!

Actually the laptop you linked in your OP is quite decent and your analysis was pretty much right on. The graphic cards is pretty much on the low end. To be honest AV output is pretty much standard now with a VGA port and HDMI on most laptops so finding one with both ports won't be hard. Now to...

    Welcoming New laptop suggestions

The Asus is better than the laptop suggested due to the ATI 5870 HD in there, which to my knowledge obliterates almost all of the available moblie graphic cards on the market not to mention the leap up from 6gb to 8gb ram and they both have the same processor so the Asus is a better all rounder.

    Solved! $750 and Performance?!

Refurbished laptops are generally ok if they are from a reputable company, in this case Asus which is quite decent, the laptop should work great/like new. Anyways I would recommend this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157111&cm_re=HP_pavillion_dv4-_-34-157-111-_-Product...

Choosing processor for new Alienware's m11x

Well If you are buying a new laptop and you would like it to last a good 2-3 years then your better off getting a Core-I7. Yes, you don't need it at the moment but in the long run your laptop well retain more value and be able to run games at a later time with out the need to upgrade the CPU.

Most reliable laptop brand? does it matter?

You rank a company based on the following 1) Customer service and how they communicate with the customer e.g. I like dell's customer support here they come pick up the laptop and return it in the same day all I do is make one call 2) A laptop's structure and components: How strong and sturdy...

I Need Help Finding a Laptop

Try the Asus G73H- A2 it falls in your price range and will do almost anything but the battery life is below average so you will need a 9-cell battery to meet your needs there.

    Is this laptop good?

The phenom is better as it is a Quad core compared to the I5 which is a duo core. Thus the AMD will process at almost 2x the speed other than that they are the exact same thing really.
