Do I need a Ivy Bridge CPU in order to run a PCIE 3.0 Card in a PCIE 2.0 slot?

OK, in the end, if I DO buy the GTX 750ti (which is PCIE 3.0) it runs in a PCIE 2.0, without the need for an ivy bridge or anything, right? Edit: The card does not need a 6-pin connection.

Thanks for your help guys I appreciate it. :) One more question, I was thinking of buying a EVGA GTX 650 TI 1GB, is this a good card for my CPU? If it's not, can you recommend me a good card for Casual gaming? Thanks for your help! I forgot to mention I have 6 GB of RAM, if that helps.

Do I need a Ivy Bridge CPU in order to run a PCIE 3.0 Card in a PCIE 2.0 slot?

There's the question. I was thinking of buying a new computer some time ago, but instead it would be better to upgrade my older PC. Anyways, I want to upgrade my graphics card but I was confused about these ports. My CPU is a AMD Anthlon II X4 630. Thanks for your help. :)
