confirm first if it supports more tham 8G, if it does, then go add the 8G, you'll be fine. but better if you check the manual if you can mix different ram capacity

It maybe the audio port on your Lenovo has the problem, did you tried using different earphones? or tried to use the earphone on different computer? also try to look for driver update.
You know you have a virus, so what did you do? have you scan your system using antivirus/malware ? you should do so.. try malwarebyte/hitmanpro and panda. they are all free. also check your browser if there's some searchtools installed then remove it
It maybe the battery .. try to use diffrent charger if you can have one.. that way you can test if it is really the battery or the charger... But my best gues is, its the battery
If you dont need Ubuntu, just clean install win8 on it, or you can dualboot , just google how to dualboot.. or install Virtualbox in your ubuntu and create a virtual machine and install Win8 on it
