oh, ok, that makes sense. then the answer is that the time and date are correct

it was three hours off due to it being set up when i was on the east coast. i didnt think that would matter, but i just changed it to the correct time and still nothing.

setting it back to default was the first thing i tried, but it still isnt working.

there is, but when i enable it and try, the screen goes black with "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". when i get back to the BIOS screen with the f12 command, there is a new boot option, it says [P1: MATSHITADVD-RAM...].

hey hamperking, thanks for your suggestion, but it didnt work. BIOS screen still pops right back up when i try to restart it

I cant get windows 8 to load. when i start my computer it goes straight to the BIOS screen. i have tried everything I can think of and have followed a few different threads i have found but have not figured out any solution. I have an ASUS x551m laptop with windows 8 as an operating system...
