I'd recommend an i5 to i7 CPU and 8 to 16GB RAM. i7 and 8/16GB if you want no lag whatsoever, i5 and 8/16GB if you have a budget. 8GB will limit the amount of stuff you can have open so I'd recommend 16GB for what you're doing but 8GB will suffice.

I used amazon.ca but I found one: 1) MSI, 15.6" display, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, currently runs Windows 8.1: $999.40 I didn't use any other site but this one seems good.

I'd suggest the Razer. Macs are more difficult to use for unfamiliar users and it's harder to get supported software for them (even though most companies do make equivalent software for them). My choice: Razer

It depends how good your ear is. 5.1 sound uses 6 channels & 6 speakers whereas 7.1 sound uses 8 channels & 8 speakers inside the headset. 7.1 surround sound is better as it has slightly better sound quality, creating greater depth and precision in the sound. Of course, though, 7.1 channel...
