Thanks for the advice! I already tested the original charger, and it measures 19.3 Volts. but the problem remains when I connect the charger to the laptop. I´m considering on buying an external battery charger to see if I can get it to charge the battery instead of charging through the laptop...

I replaced my acer´s old battery for a new one. Followed the discharge cycle as recomended by the maker. so I put it in and turned my laptop on until the battery capacity went down to 2% and the laptop shot down automatically. (by the way the battery´s capacity when I put it on was about 72%)...
