Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. My old laptop was an MSI and to be fair I never had any issues with it but back then I wasn't thinking ahead like I am now in terms of longevity of the components etc. I am swaying towards the ASUS but just don't want to get stung 2 years down...
