My laptop has a corrupted bios indicated with the flasing light sequence, it has no hard drive installed now, can I download a copy of bios from HP website to a usb flash drive , which version do I need as I am unable to enter laptop

Have installed this hard drive via the cd drive caddy method but unable to use anything on this second drive, drive D,I can see the programs bbut when I try to access them get a series of blocking messages. Di I have to chang this via the bios, something I am not happy about doing or is there...
