After a week like this it seems to be acting normally -- go figure ---thanks for your reply though --if it starts happening again I'll re-start the query / but it definitely seems like something and not the battery /

Two years old notebook -- I'm plugged in ....The screen dims- I re-plug into a different outlet at wall ( can even be the same recepticle just the second outlet ) Screen brightens ( icon shows charging ) after a few minutes icon not showing as charging but says Plugged In Shortly...
