I don`t like to resurrect dead topics, but just in case anyone stumbles here, I want to mention that the GPU on this laptop is not soldered in. I actually took it apart from the laptop last night while replacing the TIM.
Did you try to see if FanSpeed detects your fan? I still use it from time to time.
Regarding the dust, you should open it up and clean it. There might be a layer of gunk under the fan, making it kinda useless.
For regular use - i3
For light gaming - A8
You will not manage to do much gaming on the i3, so if games are still on the list, you might as well go with an A8.
Well, I know that this is not the info that you wanted, but maybe it will help you.
Just give it a read: http://www.dailytech.com/NVIDIA+GeForce+800M+Series+Mixes+it+up+Bests+Promised+Results/article34505.htm
You need to provide more info regarding your problem in order provide you with any troubleshooting steps.
Any specific message/moment when this happens?
Are all the laptop-specific drivers installed already?
The headset I`m using for about 8 years now - A4Tech HS-50.
Ive bought the same model about 4 times now, so that`s about 2 years a piece, for about 10$ a pop.
Anyway, probably you have bigger requirements than me :D
Check out the review. I`d say it`s a winner if the budget is not a problem:

If it`s only for gaming, I`m not sure it`s worth it.
However, if the 70 euro price difference is not a big deal for you, then I recommend getting the best laptop you can get (i7 & 860m).
They are, but they reflect the ability on gaming.
Check another similar thread, and the general consesus is exactly the one that I provided: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2184396/deciding-laptops-due-cpu-gtx860-gtx850.html
Here`s some benchmarks:
i5 vs i7: http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/i5-vs-i7-midrange-gaming-performance-test-gt-850m/
850m vs 860m: http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/gtx-860m-vs-gtx-850m/
Now, which one gives a bigger FPS boost in gaming?
OP - the choice is yours!
For Gaming an i5 will do, and you want the best GPU you can get, hence the GTX 860m.
