It's a stupid strategy to begin with, but it would at least make more sense if a precedent was established by placing the amount of downloads into brackets. For Example: 1-49 songs: $1,000 damages + cost of each song 50-199 songs :$3,000 damages + cost of each song 200-999 songs:$5,000 damages...
