Speakers cause usually less ear damage and in my opinion they are better for movies and music. For gaming I would pick headset. So in your case, I would go with speakers.

Well, marginally it affects your cpu and ram but even with my mediocre amd fx 6350 and 8gb of ram, I doesnt make a difference I can notice. (avast)

Hey, one last question. I found one last computer (HP pavilion as well) and it has the same CPU and GPU. It has 12 GB of Ram Instead of 8 , but it has lower screen resolution of 1366x768 instead of 1920x1080. Is the 4 GBs of RAM worth the screen resolution reduction? They have the same price...
