Hi, I am planning to purchase a samsung tablet in near future, wanted to know about the best available tablet security software in the market.

Go for a combination of any free or paid AV with running malwarebytes occasionally. IF your going for a paid one I would recommend quick heal. They have a robust after support system. Free; you could go for avast as many have recommended or kaspersky even.

This could probably because of some error while restarting & Quick Heal could not locate new virus definitions. I don't think this is a serious issue and you can resolve it by re installing Quick Heal. Else, just write to them & your query will be resolved quickly. They are good at customer support.
