The notch is a problem because it cuts into your video viewing. You have to shrink the video down to avoid the notch. This isn't a problem unless you watch a lot of videos... then it's a problem that will bug you every day. And yes, Samsung makes amazing AMOLED displays... I'm very happy Apple...
