Well in fact I found a trick to do it: using windows 7 equalizer, pushing all settings to the max and using vlc 200% volume too if needed, now it's not convenient and while hard limiting to a rather low volume it still has a limit so if anyone has a better solution I would still like to check it.

I don't want to use this kind of software for this but that's a good example: do you know a software or anything, like a vlc/media player classic option, that allows to set a maximum dB, so when a movie has an overall low dB, the few that are loud, like screamers on some youtube movies, simply...
