Does anyone know if the issue of a black-line on the screen was resolved in this laptop? if so how will I know the manufacturing date of the one I purchase to make sure I an not getting an old version with the issue?

Hi I am thinking about buying this laptop but unfortunately it has no HDMI port which I need often for presentations. 1. is it cumbersome to use an adapter? should I look for another laptop? 2. I don't really need the 2 in 1 but this an overall good laptop with great specifications and reviews...
