    retrieving movie from hard drive

Dish Network DVRs encrypt the data - and can only be accessed from the original DVR that recorded the program. Virtually all cable companies and satellite providers do this to prevent copying programs to another device. It stinks for the honest users.....but the "pirates" out there would...

Lenovo y50 wont boot, not even getting the lenovo logo, just a blank screen.

You will probably need to create a Windows 10 bootable USB stick and boot from that and either repair the installation that way, or reinstall windows from the bootable stick.

Does playing loud music damage your headphones?

Torn cones and/or burned out coils will result in the low (bass sounds) and high (cymbols) not being reproduced, and voices will sound muffled. Most devices won't produce enough power dissipation (watts) to cause damage to headphones, but anything is possible.

Does playing loud music damage your headphones?

Typical damage to speakers and/or headphones (they are both the same principle) are two causes - the first is damage to the coil by overheating (high volumes dissipate higher wattage, creating more heat). The second is damage to the speaker cones, caused by the speaker moving too quickly and/or...

    Starter DSLR camera

Personally - I would spend a few hundred bucks more and get a good kit like this one: http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/eos-rebel-t6-ef-S-18-55mm-ef-75-300mm-double-zoom-kit It gives you two lenses - a normal lens (18-55mm) and a zoom lens (75-300mm) to start, plus the bag and camera...

Using 8 ohm Speakers on 6 ohm Stereo

When you use speakers that have a higher impedance (8 ohms vs. 6 ohms), the sound levels will be lower, as the power (wattage) to the speakers will be lower due to the higher impedance of the speakers. Running a resistor in parallel will lower the impedance to that the stereo sees, but the...

Need help picking a Laptop for a family member. $400-$450 USD budget

A core i-3 is on the low end of processors....if you can find an core i-5, you will get better performance, but it may be tough at that price point. I would go with a 15" screen vs. the 17" if you are using it as a portable device - I have both a 15" and a 17.3", and the 15" is much easier to...

Bill my AT&T Account wont work for some games?

It could be an issue with your AT&T account. That is why I suggested you call them.

Bill my AT&T Account wont work for some games?

If app purchases are allowed, then either that software developer doesn't accept the billing from AT&T, or there is an issue with your account. I would call AT&T technical support to check on it.

Bill my AT&T Account wont work for some games?

The easiest way is to uninstall the game, then reinstall and check the permissions when it asks for them.

Bill my AT&T Account wont work for some games?

If your bill is past due, or your bill is over a certain limit - they may not approve it. Also, the permissions from that game may not be set to allow that payment type.

    possible upgrades for lenovo y50?

I have recommended a few to friends - generally speaking, that processor won't have much of an upgrade path, it will take at least 16GB of RAM, and the HDD can be upgraded with a new HDD or SSD.

Laptop's Video Card Not Found (other problems, too)

Go to MSI's website and download the latest drivers - you probably uninstalled a driver that is needed prior to the GPU.

Port Forward not working (netgear B90-755044-15)

By default, 99.99% of the connections will get a new IP address everytime they are rebooted. If you pay for a fixed IP address, they will give you one. Basically, to host a game, you would either have to give out the IP address (which your router would forward to the server via port...
