I have solved it. I needed to update my drivers.

I am running an MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate motherboard, an Intel i5 4690k, and an MSI GTX 970 OC. I have an HDMI cable running from the GPU to my tv, and the graphical input is great; however, audio won't transmit. Does anyone have a solution? I don't know what to do and I have searched the internet...

I am looking for a laptop that will be good for both gaming and programming. I would like the laptop to be around the 1300-1700$ range. I will probably be running both windows and some form of linux, windows for gaming and linux for programming. -I would like the laptop to run most games...
