I have uninstalled the sound device and restarted my laptop yet the issue still remains. Do you or anyone else have any other suggestions please.

I restarted my computer today and suddenly there's a red cross on the speaker icon and when I hover over it says "No audio output device is installed". Also, when I run a dxdiag and go to the sound tab, it now says "No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver...
