3 Steps to Curb What the Government Knows About You

Worth mentioning that (at least in Chrome), two of her recommendations conflict. Using incognito mode will by default prevent extensions (such as HTTPS Everywhere, or Adblock Plus, which you should also use) from running. Be sure to set these to run in incognito mode at chrome://extensions.

Win an Apple Watch from Tom's Guide!

I'd sell it and put that money towards a shiny new Skylake setup (or Cannonlake if I'm gonna be more patient) :-D

Is Mattel's Talking Barbie Safe For Your Kids?

+1 to Kamdar. At what age do parents learn to start respecting the privacy of their kids? If I learned that my parents had been spying on me via my toys, I'd be pretty pissed. When my kid arrives, I sure as hell won't be spying on them (beyond obviously the baby monitor to make sure they're OK...

All the iPhone 6 (and iOS 8) Fails to Date

Wouldn't recommend Xperia haag - me, my wife and brother in law have all owned recent models and they're not great. Best bet with Android is the Nexus (or Nexus-style) route where you've got pure Android without Sony / Samsung / etc crap bloating it and removing your official update options...

Blake Stone Source Code Released After 20 Years

Supercolossal +1 to Heretic and Blood remakes! I still play Blood from time to time in DOSBox. Awesome game. I loved Blake Stone when I was little but feel a modern version could lose the magic of the original. It would need to be "retro" styled I think interms of music, visual design etc.

Chrome Tabs Get Noise Indicator; Android Version Updated

LePhuronnThis made me laugh so hard! The delicious irony of a Tom's writer complaining about the very thing that has made Tom's next to impossible to enjoy any more! +1 - truer words rarely spoken.

Android Increasingly a Growing Target for Mobile Malware

I had no idea! I do recall people's comments about Gruener being an Apple fanatic. Would be good to see a response to this from Islam/Gruener.

Android Increasingly a Growing Target for Mobile Malware

I don't get what peoples' problem with Zak is. Feel free to enlighten me. I really hope it's more than just a reaction to his second name. I haven't seen any other Tom's writer attract so much criticism. Like acerace says, there's some really immature users on here voting down some comments...

    ?

If you're trying to host a Facebook page, FP requires a https:// address. To get that, you'll need to pay your hosting company for an SSL certificate. If you pay extra for a wildcard (*) certificate then subdomains on that domain will also be covered by that SSL certificate. So you could have...

User-submitted galleries via front end in ExpressionEngine

Hi Corby, best advice is don't use EE :-P I'm losing patience with it now. To answer your question, I did get it working temporarily, but then enabled CAPTCHA out of curiosity. Didn't work, so I tried disabling it, but it's stuck enabled. Turns out it's a bug in my version of EE (2.53) and...
