Hi .. I didn't need a cooling pad but you may need a spare SSD laying around. Mine died one month after owning and dealing with RMA was ridiculous. Sent it in on my own dime.. just to have it sent back to me with the same SSD and the same problems with it. Returning to retailer. Guess it all...
