    Choosing between 2 lenovo laptops

with the prospect of games using more cores, I'd get the quad core. when games become more processor intensive, you can always lower your screen rez or lower your gfx settings, but if you max out your cpu, then your framerates will suffer/stutter regardless of your video settings

    Solved! Everyday use/game laptop

http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_info&model_name=NP5160 this is just barely out of ur pricerange, but it is a really good deal IMO. and for $30 more you can upgrade to quad core.

Solved! 260 card with core 2 duo.

i'd get a better proc than core 2. graphics wise, the gtx 260 is very good (for a laptop) but keep in mind if your processor isn't fast enough to do the cpu calculations in the game, you won't be able to just lower the eye candy... the game will just be laggy.

    Good benchmark test???

go to futuremark.com and download 3dmark06 and (if you have vista) 3dmark Vantage. 3dmark05 is good too, but it is a little dated. also, you can run programs like superpi. reply back and post scores with your new hardware
