apple products do have a pretty good track record for having easy to use great consumer computers that allow you to render videos, photo editing programs and would probably be very good for what you want to use it for! I'm not to familiar with apple products but i'm sure someone else can link...

why such a small screen size? that might be alot harder to find in that price range. you can always upgrade the RAM very easily to get alot better preformance! so dont be locked in with the mindset on having those 8gb's :) because you can easily throw 16gb and have a rocket ship haha
