    Do soldered CPU's/GPU's need thermal paste?

    I am about to order a Clevo laptop and the reseller said they do not apply thermal paste to this unit because the CPU/GPU are soldered onto the motherboard. Are they right? Or should the thermal paste be applied anyway? If not, can someone explain why?
