Of thise 2 I would normally say just get the 980m over the 970m but the MSI one looks nicer and has a good size SSD included.

I suspect polaris and pascal will be an even bigger step forward in laptops than desktops so its worth waiting a bit if your not in a hurry. The newegg link doesnty seem to work

@ Shadow All Phenom II chips have 4 cores the 3 core and dual core have 1 or 2 locked that may be defective or may not be. @ OP You could try a voltage increase if the 4th core isn't stable. I didn't think 9xx chipsets supported core unlocking but if you have a setting for it I must be wrong.

You should not be able to play it at all with a 210 it states 6770 as minimum which is way above the 210 in performance.

According to the manual from http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/M5A99X_EVO/#support_Download_30 part 3.5.5 under advanced/CPU core unlock function there is a setting called Asus Core unlocker set that to enabled.

Thats it look for ACC and set to enabled.

The board support ACC so it should be simple to enable it in the bios see what happens and go from there. Use HWMonitor (free download) to check your temps and Prime 95, OCCT or intel Burn test to stres the CPU to see if its stable (assuming you can unlock it anyway). As for coolers closed...

I assume you have an Athlon x3 or a Phenom x3. You do not usually need to increase the voltage but it is a good idea to keep an eye on the temps. You need a motherboard that supports unlocking and if you have one just activate it in the bios and it may just work, it may work but be unstable...
