what would the wires i bought be used for then, just newer stereo equipment to older speakers? thank you for your answer, i will probably just give them away to a friend to deal with now.

I have my computer (dell studio xps) using my dynex tv as a monitor. I have the sound going to the tv screen. I was wondering if there was a way to continue that sound through the tv into some speakers i have, via any of it's audio ports. i have the cables needed to go from audio (red and white)...
