I just looked up the audio extractor and appear to be essentially the same thing as what im attempting only i could have purchased one less item. We'll see how it goes. Ill be sure to post my results.

Thank you for your response. I will keep this in mind. I actually just ordered an hdmi splitter cable and an hdmi to rca converter. I'll put the male end of the splitter directly into the ps3 then from the 2 females, one will go directly to the tv and the other will go to the converter, then...
