This is really cool and could be incredibly useful if the price comes down enough. However, I assume that metal for the machine to consume will be pretty pricey.

Hmmm. In that case, something with the card itself may be wrong, connectors shorted when they shouldn't, maybe even a dying power supply.

If it was dead from the beginning there's nothing really you can do. If it actually worked one of the things you tried so far would have shown it,so I guess, unfortunately, it died somehow. Of course, there could always be something I'm overlooking, but laptops are never fun to deal with.

I don't like iFail devices in the least, but I have to admit the iOS looks kinda nice. That's not enough for me to forgive the phone, mind you, but it looks much better than it did.
