I have had 5 ps3's.... 3 have failed with this. yes all old ps3 because I liked the idea of being able to use backwards compatibility to my 135 ps2 games. 3/5 due to this issue. I'm sure failure rate is higher in other countries. They probably only released the numbers of their country...
