That is odd, especially with a wipe, are you using Migration Assistant? If you use Migration Assistant and copy over settings it will auto-populate with your old mail, ichat/message etc. accounts. Otherwise I can't help, it's very odd...

If you're on a Mac iMovie works fine, not amazing, you won't get über pro editing out of it, but it does it well enough. If you're on Windows or hate iMovie, then Lightworks is the way to go. Be warned though, Lightworks is a hard program to get to grips with, ease of use isn't really a thing...

What you could do, if you want to use an Apple TV, is you can simply plug the projector into the Apple TV's (provided it has HDMI) HDMI Out and the Onkyo into the Sound Out. Then you can use AirPlay to stream to it.
