Thanks for your reply but it does not help. When the list of bootable devices is displayed the cd dvd is not listed. Although a bootable dvd is in fact in the drive, it is not detected. By the way it should not matter if the disk is i sertrd or not. The drive should be recognized. Thanks anyway...

On my Toshiba Satellite C55-A5281, the BIOS does not list the CD/DVD as a possible boot device. (The CD / DVD drive works fine). Under Advanced - System Configuration in the BIOS, I noticed that the Boot Mode was grayed out and set on [UEFI Boot]. But not sure if this would have even helped...
