Thank you for you response. However it didn't work. I clicked on start, run and typed mmsys.cp then clicked ok. This is the message I recieved....Windows cannot find mmsys.cp Thanks!

I have a Toshiba laptop that has XP. It used to show a volume icon on the toolbar, but now it has disappeared. Does anyone know how I can get it back? I have tried going to the control panel and clicking on sounds,etc & then clicking on show volume icon, then restarting my computer. That didn't...
