    Though it's not a "powerhouse" I am quite impressed with my HP Omen. i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD, 1TB HDD, 4GB Invidia Graphics. all for under $1000..

    My thoughts go with it being recommended....I use Trend Micro, but I have used AVG, Avast and several others....all do a decent job, but they do slow down your device in some manner.
