    Is it better to buy a $500 lap top or a comparable $300 toshiba with a 3 year warranty for $200

    The $500 laptop would definitely be better, but if you're planning on using this laptop in rough conditions where it may get damaged, then the $300 one with the warranty would probably be better. It all depends on if you'd rather pay for performance or pay for security/safety.

    It seems to be a 640 GB 5400 RPM SATA drive. I'm not sure about the brand or any more specs than that. This is just what I found from a quick google search.
