    False Firmware Update Tool

The pop-ups have stopped for me, although I can't pinpoint exactly how or why it happened. I left my computer to do some updates and it slept for about 4 hours. When I came back about five hours ago the files were gone and so were the pop-ups. Apparently they've randomly stopped for someone on...

    False Firmware Update Tool

Update: Factory reset DOES NOT WORK The pop-ups are still happening. The ASUS representatives seem unsure on how to move forward, I will be contacting them via email in order to provide screenshots. Don't waste your time with a reset, the files are still there. ASUS seems to think that it's...

    False Firmware Update Tool

Just an update, deleting that one file got rid of other files as well: https://flic.kr/p/VPNdDa I'm going to trust that according to tech support the file wasn't important, but I think I'll give them a call to double check about the other files tomorrow.

    False Firmware Update Tool

I've been getting the same pop-ups on my laptop today as well. Here's the file origin, in case it's helpful: https://www.flickr.com/gp/151942195@N06/8qVxH1 (It's the top file) I called Asus support and they simply had me delete the file and restart my computer. No pop-ups so far, I'll update...
