I own a set of audio technica a700x and i will second the thought on getting it, i love mine greatly. Im not a counter strike fan but do play heavy amounts of first person shooters. I.E. Arma/battlefield/rainbow six siege/warface/etc etc etc

Only 5.1 with that one, i recommended it because i own one myself.. im not sure if there is a 7.1 version out there but i dont think there is that much difference between them.

For even better audio quality, grab one of these and any decent audiophile headset http://us.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-omni-surround-5-1 If you need a mic as well, check out the antlion mod mic

You are hands down the fastest person ive seen comment on here lol, i got to hand it to you. I like that advice alot, i was mildly leaning towards the omni choice but mostly because i like the way the software looks from youtube videos (im sure i can make it sound good from just the software)...

yeah i was watching some videos on the omni, i might like that alot.. its about perfect for what i was wanting. I would like to have the external volume control which the omni would provide just fine but im just not sure yet

I fully appreciate making sure im aware that both of those lack in bass (sadly i will miss it but i have no problem sacrificing in the bass department) It seems that alot of these external amps/dacs are usb (am i right here) I cant use my onboard software without it being ran through a 3.5mm...
