I was part of a program in college where I helped athletes with math homework. I graduated a year ago. I use both calculus and algebra at work, but it is all done by computers. Never by hand.

I love algebra. It makes sense in a traditional format.

I would get 8.1 for sure. It really is better in every capacity than 7.

The majority of games do not use hyperthreading at all. (this is why a desktop i5 and i7 are same in games) The i7 will blow the i5 away in any games that uses more than 2 cores. (this is the same as comparing a desktop i3 to a desktop i5) Some games like LoL and MC will show no difference...

Get the i7. The i5 is a dual core. laptops are really the only time an i7 is actually significantly better for gaming over an i5 due to mobile i5s being dual cores.
