Would it being a USB 3.0 port have anything to do with it?

Hi there, I just bought an Acer Aspire S5 391. Now I need to reinstall windows 7 from my USB flash drive. I know the USB works as I have successfully used in on another laptop. The laptop doesnt seem to recognise the USB. USB HDD is set as number one in boot bios. I enabled the F12 boot menu...
